Carpenter Ants nest in wood and can cause serious damage to properties and trees. Carpenter Ants don’t actually consume the wood like a Termite, but instead nest inside of it. On the outside Carpenter Ants nest in dead trees, stumps and chopped up wood logs and natural stones. This is a major reason to never leave these items near your property. On the inside, they prefer to nest in older moist damage wood, but have been found in solid healthy wood. This means if you have had a water leak that has damaged the wood in your home and/or business, then you are now vulnerable to the possibility of Carpenter Ants.
Carpenter Ants are big large ants that can trail hundreds of feet from their nests to find food and are more active at night when peak foraging occurs. Once Carpenter Ants enter your structure and start nesting you will start to notice sawdust like piles called (frass). This is a sign of a serious problem with Carpenter Ants. Most people notice a new Carpenter Ant Issue on their property in early spring. Carpenter Ant services are performed by treating the nest sites and adjacent objects like trees, bushes, shrubs, landscaping and buildings. Treatment is performed by using liquid, foam, dust and bait insecticides in certain areas around your property.
